Okay, I have to admit that I am currently obsessing with ming red accents... love, love, love! I think they look just fabulous with, well, so many things but I adore them when paired with cobalt blue, robin's egg and yellow. It is absolutely my new favorite thing. So, if the world were a perfect place and I could start my first floor from scratch this is what it would be...
*Living room by Feasby & Bleeks with the wonderfully cheery Garrett Glass Cabinet by PB as the perfect, odd pop of color (ming red of course) and the absolutely charming, & perfectly mismatched, Queen Anne's dining moment (also by PB) flanking in the eating area. Isn't it just fantastic?! Ah... have a wonderful weekend everyone!

When I was visiting a friend in Colorado she took me to the home of a lovely artist that had completely refurbished her house in a brilliant, d-i-y fashion. I remember walking up to the entry and seeing a wall of blooming plants literally hanging from the side of the house. It was a fun, beautiful burst of life; A completely fresh presentation that instantly made a statement.
"A vertical garden, sometimes called a living wall, is an organized system of plants that grow vertically up a wall, fence, or other vertical surface. Vertical gardens are a beautiful way to show off plants, cover an unsightly wall, or create privacy in a courtyard. Because they are hung vertically, vertical gardens hardly take up any space." Perfect for an organic herb garden, an outdoor edible farm or... a wonderful, green, living wall. Love it!

A great seating moment is the perfect pause in a room. It provides a moment of rest for the eye as well as the body. Treat it with love and give some thought to what accessories can enhance it's narrative. Try mixing high and low elements like metal and wood or soft flowers against angular shapes. A stack of books with an hourglass to count the time... You get the idea. And if you do it just right, even the smallest corner can sparkle!

I am loving Anthropologie's At Home website feature entitled "Pick A Pigment". Following the launch of their new, in-store decorator's shops, Anthro's on-line brand is now offering a more full-service decorating feature. In "Pick A Pigment" shoppers choose between 3 colour palettes (turquoise, sand and coral) and with a simple click of your mouse... furniture and decor ideas are provided for your given selection. What I find most valuable with this feature is an entire "Anthropologie look" is created for you: eclectic, vintage, global, touch-of-hand decor. Everything from hardware to dinnerware, drapery to one-of-a-kind upholstery is suggested. It is a fantastic tool for inspiration or for a complete one-stop-shopping destination. Love it! Have a wonderful week everyone!

Blush, pink and honeysuckle are a simple delight when combined with just a dash of apple-ly green. Peonies in full bloom... I can't think of anything more perfect, or fabulous. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

I have always loved to sprinkle rooms with decor that is aged... I love green patinas, distressed woods, chipping metals and found objects. For me they bring depth and a bit of tradition into a space. I am loving the faded greens, grays and weathered whites of this Old Havana streetscape. It instantly recalls an era where the days moved slowly, the nights were hot and beauty was unabashedly feminine... The perfect inspiration, and palette, for a timeless room.

Welcome to another spring day... & how better to usher it in than with cheery orange and inky blue prints, bright bursts of lemons and a sparkling white pair of chairs?! Isn't it just fabulous?!! Loving the high-low mix of furnishings, the graphic pops of print and the sun-shiny happiness of it all. Have a happy week everyone!

As we head into the weekend I wanted to share with you another inspiration board from my week of deadlines. What I am loving most about this concept is the fusion of modern color and traditional forms. By mixing styles and color the room becomes more interesting and playful. It is always good not to take a space too seriously... love the driftwood mirror! Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Thoughts I am having about a new living room project... traditional+eclectic with a touch of prep. What a happy surprise in gray, white, navy and grassy green. I am loving the fun pops of bright red and oh-so cheery atmosphere! Yippie!

Right now I am loving rooms that feel loved, rooms that feel like a collection of one's life, rooms that fully embrace the richness found with age. I love the thought of delicately etched glass and worn wood, luscious velvet and weeping flowers, old world grace and disheveled ease. I love that beauty can be found in timeless pieces and timeless pieces are forever beautiful. Have a wonderful week everyone...

Another year has come to pass... I'm a bit older, a touch wiser, a few new laugh lines decorate my face... but my cup is full with the many blessings of life and my imagination is brimming with a wonderful world of dreams... Happy Birthday to me, my best friend Erin (whom I have known since we were just girls) and to everyone else celebrating today!
(p.s. I love this idea for a cake... Oreos and champagne, just Perfection!)

I love spring. I wait for it every year... with her drops of rain and budding blooms spring brings a wonderful palette of fresh, pretty colors to life again. Lilacs, pinks, grassy green, yellows and robin's egg blue. This is their time to shine. Welcome back beautiful... Spring...

"The colors of the rainbow are so pretty in the sky." Louis Armstrong
I am just loving bright color right now. I have lived with grey and greige for so long I feel like I need a burst of vitality- a breath of freshness. Color doesn't apologize for being bold, it just draws you into a space with zest and flair. And hello sunshine... yellow is "it" right now! I love how it sparkles and sings... just like spring. Have a happy week everyone!

At long last the weekend is here. And although I won't be getting a break (work calls as do the kids & some charity responsibilities) I wish I could curl up with a pile of good design mags, a glass of wine & a plate of warm chocolate chip cookies. There's nothing wrong with the dream... ahh... have a wonderful weekend everyone!
